RideKC Freedom-Johnson County

RideKC Freedom in Johnson County is a non-ADA, shared-ride, curb-to-curb paratransit service for eligible Johnson County residents who are unable to use the bus or micro transit due to a disability or age-related mobility challenges. The service was formerly known as Special Edition.

This program supports:

  • Johnson County residents with disabilities who cannot use fixed route or micro transit
  • Residents age 65+ with mobility limitations preventing them from using traditional transit

All RideKC services, including micro transit and fixed-route buses, are fully accessible and often the most affordable and flexible option. We encourage customers to consider these services when possible.

RideKC Freedom service in Johnson County operates throughout the county and includes select destinations in Kansas City, Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri.
