App Center and WiFi

These applications can help you find information on the go. RideKC's apps include Transit, Freedom On-Demand, TransLoc for Micro Transit apps and RideKC Navigator. We recommend reading reviews of the apps to determine if an app fits your needs. Some of the apps include only KCATA information, while others include multiple transit agencies. 

WiFi

WiFi is available on board most buses.  All KCATA and Johnson County buses provide free WiFi. The Prospect MAX has free WiFi at stations from south Kansas City to downtown. The KC Streetcar has free WiFi along the 2.2 mile line in downtown Kansas City, Mo.

Transit App 

The official app of RideKC. Provides real-time information about the next bus or train arrival in Kansas City and many other cities. Includes a trip planner.

RideKC Flex App

The RideKC Flex mobile app allows customers to book trips and cancel trips in the app. Currently available for routes 297 and 298

Freedom On-Demand

This  app-based option offers same day taxi service getting you where you need to go, when you need to get there. Designed for paratransit trips and available for everyone.  
Cost: The app is free. Ride cost based on ADA eligibility and distance.

Microtransit

TransLoc

RideKC works with an app partner to offer a ride-hailing micro transit pilot in Wyandotte County. See details for Micro Transit service 199 .

Iris by RideKC

Iris by RideKC

Iris is an app-driven service in Kansas City, Mo. RideKC and Kansas City, Mo. work with an app partner to offer a point-to-point ride-hailing service. RideLV in Leavenworth, Kan., also uses IRIS app for ride hailing.
Cost: The app is free. Fare varies by trip.

Microtransit

RideKC Micro Transit

RideKC works with an app partner to offer a ride-hailing micro transit pilot in Johnson County. See details for Micro Transit service 499.

RideKC Bike app

RideKC Bike

RideKC offers three great shared-use mobility options to choose from: new electric-assist bikes and pedal bikes.

RideKC Navigator

RideKC Navigator provides audio navigation instructions for transit users with visual impairment in the Kansas City region. Using Bluetooth-enabled sensors at transit stops and intersections, RideKC Navigator guides you to and from transit stops along selected routes, provides real-time bus arrival and occupancy estimates, shows nearby places to help you explore your surroundings, and allows you to save favorite locations.
